Welcome to Our School
My name is Kelly and I am the director of Los Angeles Math Tutoring. My company was established after I left my teaching job in order to raise my new born baby. When I was a teacher, most of my students came to me with little or no knowledge of basic math, trying to pass an advanced Algebra class. Even though I had many tools provided to me, having over 30 students in a classroom, I had a difficult time in helping all of them catch up 10 years worth of math knowledge in a single semester. Although I ended up helping many wonderful students succeed, I always felt that math should be supplemented outside of school to guarantee that all students will have a fair chance of catching up in a competitive environment.
When I left, I decided to do something about it, and this is how our company began. We diagnose the problem in the first fifteen minutes of the session. Then, we attack it, literally, with "injections" of missing knowledge. My company's success rate is over 90%, which includes children that failed math for years. Even though success can be measured in many ways, grades in school will count the most for the student and for us as well. My goal is, after all, to prepare your child to achieve his/her full potential in the most critical environment of his/her life. I consider myself an energetic, caring, individual that truly cares about my students and will push them to fulfill their true potential.
Throughout the years, parents and college students shared with me, some of the reasons that let them to choose my services. These are some of reasons they gave me:
1) Parents feel safe with a real credentialed teacher with their child.
2) Parents feel that the teacher should have actual experience teaching kids at school.
3) Parents feel that teachers have more access to school materials, such as: Teachers Books, exam CD's, SAT's and CAHSEE materials, things that only teachers can get their hands on.
4) Parents usually experience an immediate positive change in their child, within a couple of weeks: "It's a Miracle! Our kids never got math before, until they met you. Simply incredible!". (This one is the most common remarks after only a few sessions).
5) Parents are mostly impressed with "my easy" teaching methods that I have designed over the years. Our Motto is "Math is Easy" and we remember that it applies to absolutely everyone.
6) We focus on "Learning to Learn". We do not want students to grow to be dependent on us. Instead, we teach them how to "solve it" as soon as possible and then give them the tools to understand the standards on their own.
7) Our rates are very affordable. We usually accomplish a lot in one session and would like to see the student, no more then once a week. We would see them a few times more just before an important test, for review only.
8) As a rule, we do not tutor students that do not want the tutoring. It is usually counter productive and will result in failure.
